yes i do have the cpu oc mines at 3.9 also
now i USED to run it at 1.3 volts fixed
but it seems apperent now theres more luck in a little extra juice to cpu vcore when pushing the ram
so at the moment im running 1.325v at 3.9
 (for reference the temps difference between 1.3v and 1.35v when i was testing over the weekend were an extra 6 degrees C using a noctua heatsink and fan)

i will try to gently drop the volts back down when i feel sure i have a stable ram overclock and update you with my findings

ive set the proc-odt at 53.3 ohms, as a tester it seems ok ,i choose that as it seemed most people used it with sucess ( and yes i couldnt agree more ,we need people to share experiance with what works with what boards and ram brands, to enable us to learn)

i have to set geardown to enabled with the taichi or it will always give me the cold boot loop of death, this seems to be echoed with others on the overclockers taichi thread

so basically at the moment my cl15 ram is
set with xmp
change the first 4 timings to ALL 14 then leave the rest at xmp hence the 35/50
i have however changed the trfc
trfc 1st =312
trfc 2nd = 192
trfc 3rd = 132
geardown = on
bank group swap = disabled
bank group swap alt = enabled
proc-odt = 53.3
dram volts 1.375v (need to lower)
soc 1.05v (need to lower)
vddp 1 volt (need to lower)
vtt-ddr 0.700
cpu vcore 1.325v (need to lower)

future plans :
get the voltages down a bit
test at 3333 mhz
tighten a few more timings *step by slow-step* (using stilts and chews profiles)

I wonder if SPDTool, whose download is from early 2014, will work with DDR4. I'll see...

EDIT: Not working on my Z270 PC, will try with Ryzen.

I'm curious if you have a CPU OC with your memory OC. I use 1.35V for my 3.9GHz OC (which barely qualifies as an OC IMO) with a 1700X.

I used stilt's Samsung B-die secondary and tertiary memory settings with my FlareX 3200, and it helped to get it to run at 3200, which was never a given on my Ryzen PC. Manually setting Proc ODT seemed to help too, which I imagine you've done already. I've been fascinated with Proc ODT lately, which I have set to, IIRC, 60 Ohms. What is your's set to, for my Proc ODT knowledge base? I hate that we don't know what the Auto setting actually is, and there are no specs about it. My newer Intel chipset boards have several ODT options, which never get set to anything but Auto, since there is not much information about it available.

AMD said that for any memory OC (above 2667), the Auto setting for Gear Down Mode is enabled, so 2T. They also said it is easier to OC your memory with Gear Down Mode enabled. We won't see the Command Rate set to 2T, if it is set to 1T, but Gear Down Mode changes it internally. As you said, the usual notion is Ryzen prefers 1T, which is the XMP value for my FlareX 3200.

Your timings are almost identical to the XMP timings of my FlareX, 14 14 14 14 34 48. In the past, I had the occasional cold boot problem with the FlareX, but I haven't had that happen for a while now. I also have AM4 Boot Training disabled.

a small update
tried running advised timings of 14/14/14/14/33/46  still had some game crashes at 3333

dropped the mhz down to 3200 and 14/14/14/14/35/50 and its been rock solid all afternoon and evening

it may seem a combination of the low end b dies and my not so lottery win cpu imc

im happy now anyway as my stock cl15 timings defaulkted to cas 16

so its a good improvement

i will see how it goes and maybe try to bump it to 3333 if this remains stable over the week

well let me explain
my sticks are cl15 3200 described as middle ground samsung b dies

stilt and chew both get faster speeds and lower timings on these lower binned ic's
(hence why ive aimed high and increased speed AND lowered timings)

ive got much further today as what seems to be the issue holding me back was the geardown mode and cold boots even at 3200 cl14

3466 at first posted timings was a bit of a no-go had game crashes (windows fine just game crash)

and in 4 hrs also had two crashes in games not windows at 3333

it would seem my sticks and imc are not that happy with the tighter set of timings

i will have to try safer 3200 cl14 settings
