That said, the testing was clearly not adequate and ASRock will doubtless be more thorough moving forward. I would imagine they trusted the update provided by intel rather than testing it as thoroughly as they should have. Intel are not usually know for releasing board bricking UEFI microcode. ASRock is a small manufacturer that does a hell of a lot with a relatively small staff and infrastructure, they make mistakes the same as every other manufacturer. The one thing I have always liked about ASRock however is how far they are willing to go to make things right for the end user. I recommend all of you effected by this issue contact ASRock and explain your situation, I am sure they will be more than happy to try and make things right for you.

Even though the Instant Flash update v.1.60 is available, I still cannot trust it and quite frankly, I cannot trust ASRock to get anything right, after this debacle! Unfortunately, it seems ASRock are unique in being the only OEM of these low-powered Apollo Lake boards and I bought one due to their low-power consumption. But my trust in ASRock is gone and I would rather be without this and purchase higher-powered i3/i5/i7 manufactured by another brand.
