Hi.

I have some questions/problems with Asrock Taichi x370 ,  maybe you already know the solution for some:

->with bios 4.4 and up even without any overclock I have a 4 second delay in ultrafast mode with code d7 when restarting or cold booting, this doesn't happen with 3.2 bios.

->p state overclock never decreases core voltage(with cpu offset voltage not fixed) only frequency in any bios.

-> fsb overclock is capped at 108 Mhz with SMT on, is this normal behavior for this board?

->in bios version 3.2 there is no
Idle power consumption:typical power idle, low power idle option.
Is there any generation 3 bios that has it?
I need the option because the board is very noisy on low power idle(vrm coil  noise)

Thank you! Wink

System:
Taichi  x370
Ryzen 5 1600x
Corsair Vengeance RGB 3000 Mhz CMR16GX4M2C3000C15

i use 3.1 bios and have the core volts drop down to 0.500 ish when on idle

and overclocking the fsb on am4 isnt what id call a good idea
esp as you lose pcie stability at anything over 104 ...............

Unfortunately for me this solution is not usable since this board has a huge coil noise(tried 2 boards already) when using the "very low power idle mode " and any bios prior to 4.4 has no "typical power idle" option.Ouch
The only solution that overclocks and downvolts without coil noise that a i found is  increasing the  fsb with  "typical power idle"  but that is not stable as you also said.

can i ask ,as i have no issues with the board at all

have you checked the actual psu ? and also do you have a good stable mains power supply where you live ?

eg here in the uk we have a quoted 230v ac mains which when tested is a decent stable 240v (as was previously the quoted norm in the uk)

Yes, tried with 3 psu Sleepy(Spire 450W, Enermax Modu82 and Corsair rmi750).
I also tried other 2 well known motherboards( Asus Ch6 and Gigabyte k7)  and both are quieter.
