Thx man!
I thought i needed the Asmedia ASM-3142 USB 3.1 Controller driver, but it seems to work fine without it.

Note: I Post this for informational purposes only !
Drivers (and date of driver) that I have used successfully 3 times installing Windows 7 Sp1 64bit to Z370 boards, one being the Z370 Pro4. I have NOT installed to NVME, just to various SATA drives. see corresponding * below for known issues I have found. Chipset/Inf: Intel v10.1.1.44 (V101144_20170830) *1 USB 3.0: Intel v5.0.3.42 (20170328-0342) *2 SATA: Intel Rapid Storage v15.8.1.1007 (20170913_WHQL) *3 *4 Intel I219V LAN: Proset v22.6.6.0 (v22.6.6.0_20170905) Audio: Depends on the motherboard, check your manual/specs. Note: The Asrock Z370 Pro4 and Z370 Killer uses Realtek ALC892, Realtek Audio 6.0.1.8186 or 6.0.1.8210 (v8210_FF00) driver works. Video: there are no Win7 drivers that will work with the new 630 UHD Display that comes with 8000 series cpus except native basic Windows drivers. Use an add-on PCIe card to get best functionality. *1 There will be a yellow flag in Device Manager about PCI Simple Device, that is relative to Intel Management Engine and can be left alone unless you specifically need it. Have not installed IME and do not know which version will work with Z370 and Win 7. *2 There are no USB3 drivers included in Windows 7 SP1 install disks, either: Create a special Win 7 install disk with USB 3 drivers merged OR use PS2 port (if avaliable) and PS2 keyboard to install Windows and USB driver. *3 needs .Net Framework 4.5+ for the IRST Control Panel applet or may error, the bare SATA drivers do not need .Net Frameworks and will install properly. *4 NVMe drives need a Hotfix in order to work with Windows 7, look for MS windows kb2990941 Hotfix |

I just want to add, 10.1.1.44 is not the latest chipset drivers. 10.1.17570.8068 is the latest. Ignore the driver date. Intel purposely set the driver date to year 1968 as a homage to the day the company was founded date, and to prevent 3rd party drivers from being overwritten by intel's. 10.1.17570.8068 has also merged in the server family of chipsets (X79, X99, X299 and enterprise variants).
When installing the latest chipset drivers, make sure to use the "-overall" command flag without the quotes when launching the chipset setup program to install all the related drivers.

I never said 10.1.1.44 was the newest and thank you for listing the newer one. 10.1.1.44 also supports x99, and x299 as well as z370. I will test the new in a clean install on a Z370 board and see how it works. Edited by badbri - 30 Mar 2018 at 8:53am |

Minor update
Z370 Windows 7 Sp1 64bit Drivers and where to get them: Intel Chipset 10.1.17479.8054 (.exe dated 11/9/2017) https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27504/ Intel Chipset v10.1.17541.8066 (.exe dated 1/10/2018) ftp://asrock.cn/Drivers/Intel/INF/INF(v10.1.17541.8066).zip Note: the contents is about same as 10.1.17479.8054 except for a few differant descriptions, mainly of the PCIe 16x Intel SATA: full package Intel Rapid Storage: 15.8.1.1007* note requires .Net Frameworks 4.5+ https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27442/ driver only: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/05SATA/RST_15.8.1.1007_20170913_WHQL.zip download and extract, driver only is in Driver folder Intel SATA: full package Intel Rapid Storage: 15.9.0.1015* note requires .Net Frameworks 4.5+ https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27400/ Intel(R)_USB_3.0_eXtensible_Driver_5.0.4.43 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/22824/ Intel Gigabit I219v lan driver: Version: 23.1 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/18713/ NOTE: I suggest extracting the USB_3.0_eXtensible_Driver and using its drivers if you are creating a fixed bootable DVD or thumb drive. The drivers in 5.0.4.43 are newer than those in the Asrock and Intel creation tools. Edited by badbri - 30 Apr 2018 at 9:15am |

That is absolutely not true. Asus does provide windows 7 drivers for z370 boards in their website. I know that there is major crookery and dishonest market aggression from microsoft but you're not accurate when you tell people that no 300 board manufacturers provide win 7 drivers. This whole thing is laughable, microsoft is as horrible as it gets. We all know the chipset and the cofee lake processors support win 7 flawlessly apart from onboard video in some models. |
