I haven't overckloked anything as I don't have a motherboard(I'm searching/waiting for one).Just have the 2990wx in the box. By the way those are pics of the taichi. Not a new board or revision. It just doesn't have enough power phases and makes me think it wont be a sure investment.Im guiding my self just by the reviews that say that current motherboards(minus the meg creation) are just enough to run at stock? |

let me give you the lowdown of all amd x399 boards and their vrm. Asrock X399 Taichi: 8 phase 60 amp for vcore, or 480 amps. 480 amps @ 1.35vcore is 648 watts of available power. Asrock X399M Taichi: 8 phase 60 amp for vcore, or 480 amps. 480 amps @ 1.35vcore is 648 watts of available power. Asrock Fatal1ty X399 Professional Gaming: 8 phase 60 amp for vcore, or 480 amps. 480 amps @ 1.35vcore is 648 watts of available power. ASUS ROG ZENITH EXTREME: 8 phase 60 amp for vcore, or 480 amps. 480 amps @ 1.35vcore is 648 watts of available power. ASUS PRIME X399-A: 8 phase 60 amp for vcore, or 480 amps. 480 amps @ 1.35vcore is 648 watts of available power. ASUS ROG STRIX X399-E GAMING: 8 phase 60 amp for vcore, or 480 amps. 480 amps @ 1.35vcore is 648 watts of available power. Gigabyte X399 AORUS Gaming 7: 8 phase 50 amp for vcore, or 400 amps. 400 amps @ 1.35vcore is 540 watts of available power. Gigabyte X399 DESIGNARE EX: 8 phase 50 amp for vcore, or 400 amps. 400 amps @ 1.35vcore is 540 watts of available power. Gigabyte X399 AORUS XTREME: 10 phase (using doublers) 50 amp for vcore, or 500 amps. 500 amps @ 1.35vcore is 675 watts of available power. MSI X399 GAMING PRO CARBON AC: 10 phase (using doublers) 60 amp for vcore, or 600 amps. 600 amps @ 1.35vcore is 810 watts of available power. MSI X399 SLI PLUS: 10 phase (using doublers) 60 amp for vcore, or 600 amps. 600 amps @ 1.35vcore is 810 watts of available power. MSI MEG X399 CREATION: 16 phase (using doublers) no data on TDA21472 but if we assume 60 amp for vcore, that comes to 960 amps. 960 amps @ 1.35vcore is 1296 watts of available power. honestly, the vrm is not the bad point here (except for gigabyte's release boards). they will be fine for 2990WX, even with good overclock. if you want to push stupid voltage through your $1800 chip on liquid nitrogen, do the MEG CREATION. any other situation though, any other board is fine.
