Hi all,
Was updating an older BIOS (was running mostly fine but getting various BSODs) to 1.8 (with the intent of getting it up to current) via USB. I installed the latest AMD chipset driver first. BIOS finished to 100% and computer restarted. No post, mouse power and fans only resulted (no keyboard). Tried jumper, battery (for two hours), 1 RAM, no RAM, no GPU. No beeps or anything. Only change is it was cycling reboots for a while after the battery reset, but has been otherwise just hanging out, fans spinning. Did I brick it? Any ideas appreciated and thanks for your time. Maybe noteworthy: BIOS flash was through UEFI + USB, previous BSODs were kernel errors, IRQL not less than.
Minimal drivers and programs were installed, one SSD. Haven't tried removing everything from the case, but that my be next. Trying a CMOS battery reset again and total power off / disconnecting everything. |

Fatal1ty X470 Gaming-ITX/ac ??
Also, which specific 2600? Did you see the Caution on the BIOS D/l page for APU's? |

Ouch, if you have already followed these steps:
http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=630&title=how-to-clear-cmos-via-battery-removal Then it is almost certainly bricked by a bad update. Send a support ticket to ASRock Tech Support: https://event.asrock.com/tsd.asp This kind of thing is covered by warranty so you should be good, aside from the inconvenience that is. Good luck ![]() |

I?™m honestly amazed at the coincidence here, was just trying to update my x470 Mini-Itx to the newest version of bios as well (trying to get Linux on here finally), and had just tried to update my AMD VGA drivers to 18.50 when my pc restarted was seemingly stuck at BIOS post. After hanging for a while, the OS seems to be trying to boot, but I?™m not holding my breath...
Thankfully, I didn?™t try to reset CMOS before I saw this post! Anyone have an idea of how I should proceed? Or should I preemptively open a support ticket to figure out how to properly update this damn BIOS? |

Update: For whatever reason, my bios posted after ~15 minutes of waiting... I really have no idea where this latency is coming from, and wouldn?™t even know where to begin

I would guess retraining your RAM. It may be that the new update contains some more major changes to the RAM timings/settings and needs a bit of time to detect everything on the first post after the flash.
Shalebot, if you are still checking this thread I would suggest you turn on your system and leave it on for an hour or so and see if it posts. |

I tried a long system on last night, but I will try it for at least an hour.
I just have a normal base 2600 and all voltages and timings were stock. I'll keep putzing with CMOS and booting, but I have a ticket in as well. May just have to get a new board. -_!! Thanks all. |
