I did what you suggested, I am afraid this board is really dead in the meantime I got another board and everything fine, the CPU and MEM work fine in this new Mboard.not worth to restore it so gotta leave it at that probably cost more than replacement.

Follow the steps here to fully clear CMOS:
http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=630&title=how-to-clear-cmos-via-battery-removal

Installing the incompatible CPU may have caused corruption in the UEFI settings. If so, a full CMOS clear should do the trick. If that fails, then you may have purchased a damaged/dead board.

Hi I bought this b360 pro4 motherboard (2hand) and I tried my old skylake CPU kinda expecting it didn't work, it started up with strangely kinda gas handle sound and shut down and repeat ok no prob. so I waited for an i5 8400 coffeelake CPU that should have worked,... same behavior well maybe it was the RAM, so I waited a bit more and got RAMstick that should have worked. but the same behavior. It started 2 fan vrooms" and shuts down, repeating this over and over. I kinda expect that for a first test boot outside the case. (to set the bios) but no image no nothing, I have nothing attached yet just CPU MEM and power. HDMI monitor(tried both internal and extern GPU) keyb and mouse (wired) also tried dif power supply I have no idea what the previous owner did with it, so that is no source of help. this is the behavior I get when RAM is installed, I get the 2 fan vrooms shutdown no image repeating over and over. If I take out the RAM it powers on and keeps running. switching slots same vrooms nothing on monitor off course, so I must assume the bios is bricked. the skylake CPU is good so is the ram (when I put it back in my other pc it works fine)the coffeelake was a sealed in the box one so that should be oke. since I got this board 2hand there is no warranty I guess but what can I do to unbrick this BIOS? replace the chip? flash it with a tool? any info would help. I ordered a new motherboard (another brand) so that is not a problem but I was hoping to breathe some life back into this one. just for the experience, how ???
