   So some months ago I had posted that I was having problems with my ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate motherboard. Now it seems that I'm back to square one again... Earlier today my computer froze and when I looked in the case the CPU fan has just stopped. It had been working yesterday and this morning just fine with no problems at all. So I hit the reset button the computer case and nothing happened. I then shut off the power using the on/off switch on the PSU and turned it back on. This time the RBG lights on the CPU fan, Motherboard and Video Card came on, the fans on the Video card where running but the CPU fan was not and the board failed to post. I then double checked to make sure all the cables where properly seated (they where) and then powered it up again with the lights coming on but again the CPU fan wasn't turning and the board failed to boot. I then tried the "extreme" method where all components where disconnected from the board other then a RAM stick, the CPU and it's fan (note: this test was done in the case.), I also cleared the CMOS and then stared it with a similar result as before. I also did a test out of the case and then everything started working as normal and did a few more trails outside the case to double check it was working properly before re-installing it back in the case. After a while everything was put back in place and working properly. After 15 minutes or so the computer rebooted itself, there was no BSOD or any warning it was going to do this. Then after that about 30 minutes later it did the same thing but failed to restart or respond to the power button. After another 20 or 30 minutes I finally gave it up as a bad job and was forced to install my old motherboard with it's CPU and video card which work fine.

	Diagnosing at a distance is always tricky, but I have to say this sure sounds like a cracked trace in the board somewhere. When it opens up, the board is nogo. With enough fiddling, it can make contact and run for a while, but heat or vibration opens it up again and you crash.

	If that is indeed the case then I'm really quite disappointing as I've only had this board since July.

	Well this is strange. I did another out of case test with just the 28-pin power cable and the CPU installed nothing else. When I turned on the power to the board the fans in the case started up! That isn't normal behavior is it? I must also note that the Dr. Debug wasn't lit up during the last four or five tests that I did which means something is really wrong somewhere but I no idea what it could be.

	I was searching for possible issues with ASRock X470 Taichi motherboard. On initial assembly with all new components the system booted fine. Then I changed a couple of settings in the Bios to do with the LEDs on the Wraith CPU fan. Shortly thereafter, not sure exactly when, whenever the CPU went to sleep, the fan would turn off but not wake up from the keyboard. Now, when starting from a cold boot Power is turned on, then front panel start button pressed, CPU fan comes on for a second or so, then stops but the LED's a still on. It seems to boot to sleep mode, no 'boot to bios' options, just blank screen. Just by chance I was trying various combinations of power and start and it booted to the login screen. Turns out if you momentarily turn the power button off then back on just after pressing the start button the system boots up. I have made sure 'fast start' is turned off and all sleep modes avoided but it still freezes if I don't blip the power button. I have not updated firmware or swapped hardware to investigate as it is my only current generation system, Ryzen 7 2700X, 32Gb DDR4 PC4-28828, NVME boot disk, Radeon RX570. The only other anomaly is that the video card is listed in Device Manager as an RX570, but when scanned with Passmark software it is lited as a R470. My next step would be to remove and disassemble, then careful progressive reassembly to see if it is some strange interaction(video, memory, wiring, cpu fan. Any suggestions where best to begin? Thanks
