Hello. All the mb will to is light the leds (slow fade blinking) around the chipset frame and power fans. There is no video at all. I checked the ram and video card on a 2nd PC and they all work. I removed the cooler and checked the AMD cpu is in the correct orientation. The cpu is new.
The vendor I purchased it from (on the 24th) refuses to do anything for me without a hefty service charge. thanks all AMD 5-3600 X470 Master SLI/AC 16gb Corsair ram XFX One video card (old) M.2 storage card |

Check the drivers and make sure they are installed correctly and enabled. Sometimes OLD video cards won't work in newer systems. Also, you didn't mention your OS.

Hi. I get no video, no POST or anything. I'd love if it was a driver situation!
thanks, Bj |

Ok, you cannot get to BIOS.
Remove the card completely, then find the CMOS reset jumper and reset the board to defaults, then see if it boots with Onboard graphics. (If it has onboard graphics). If not, try a newer graphics card. |

If that doesn't get you a BIOS screen, disconnect ALL peripherals.....including Hard drives, CD ROM drives, USB / Accessory dashboards etc. Basically...boot the Mainboard without anything attached except the bare minimums.

Well good ideas. I removed everything except the video card. No luck. I do not have on-board graphics. I cleared the CMOS, no luck. I will dig up another video card and try that.
thanks all. Bj |

If there is a mainboard issue or graphics issue, or memory normally you will hear a series of beeps (provided you have a piezo beeper on the mainboard or some sort of speakers attached. Those beeps tell you the problem. If I have a problem such as this with a motherboard, I strip it bare down to the PSU and RAM. That way it's either the Motherboard, the RAM or the Power Supply. Of course, you have to have a CPU installed. If you've been messing around with the mainboard...make sure all the cables going to the CPU fan are properly attached and make sure the CPU is seated properly. Which reminds me...you "Could" have a power supply issue. Check the settings to make sure it didn't accidentally get changed to 220 European voltage (if you're in the USA or Canada) or make sure it's not set to 110v where 110 is not normally available. |

@keef:
What speed is your RAM? I've seen this happen if your RAM is over 2667. This board will support faster RAM but only through OC. If you're trying to use 3200 (like I did originally) you have to start with a slower RAM and then OC up to 3200, then your original RAM will run at full speed. No diagnostic beeps makes this one frustrating. |
