Hey guys,
I have such old mobo with a Ryzen 5x 1st gen, 16 GB Ram (2x8gb Gskill) DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200). My question is, with all that is going on im running at 80% my ram occupancy so i wonder if i can buy another stick of 8gb at the same speeds from a different brand? Im not sure if it will not supported and i might have to buy 2 sticks to have dual channel i guess? Any help will be appreciated :) |

It could work, if you use another stick of compatible RAM. If it is an odd number
of sticks you will lose dual channel functionality however. You may need to run the RAM at 2133 for stability if the other RAM is slower/older. Generally it will default to the timings and speed of the slower RAM if set to XMP (auto). If you install RAM of a different brand, disable XMP first and ensure the existing RAM is running at 2133 (DDR4 default). |

Okay so just to make sure i got you right:
I can indeed have 3 ram sticks of the same speed even from different bands but I will have to enter bios to adjust speeds all of them at 2133hz and disabled XMP correct? |

When you first install the extra module yes.
If the system POSTs fine and works you can try enabling XMP again after. Always disable XMP before installing new RAM. When the system is booting and working you can enable it again. |

Not sure if this post is still valid but I will try anyways xd
So I ended up buying the extra stick 8GB 2400 mhz I managed i believe XD to disable XMP and set the ram speeds at 2133mhz, this is a guess but i believe that no matter what when i see task manager the ram speeds will always show 1067mhz correct? So far it detects the 24gb and it has not given me any troubles yet xd |

That's great, I am glad it's all working for you.
Yes, 1067 x 2 = 2133 (well 2134 technically) DDR = Double Data Rate. |

Thanks for your help, im not running heavy games probably genshin impact and league are my most used games that consumes a lot of ram. There should not be any problem for the 3 sticks to run at 2133 right? i mean in the future that up to a certain point i get a blue screen of some sort xD
