I have found that i cannot detect a LAN connection on my Ethernet port.

I tried a fix I found on this forum about enabling/disabling the deep sleep. Unlike that post, I do have the adapters which I can see in the Device Manager if i show the hidden options, but it is just not detecting a connection.

I verified that I could get an Amber light on the port, but it does not show the green connection light anymore. I verified that the cable and router connection were good by plugging into a different PC and switch. All work normally.

I tried uninstalling the adapter and reinstalling from the CD, AMD support site driver, & Intel driver. None would see the connection again. I would get a "CODE 45" when looking at the properties of the adapter.

I did a restore and got the adapter back to normal, but still cannot connect.

I just bought this motherboard a couple months ago. Why would it suddenly drop the connection?

What motherboard? ..and did you buy used or "open box"? It would appear that the onboard nic is faulty ..

Something to check though .. do you get a green light when you are in the BIOS?

my advice would be to
download to AMD chipset driver direct from amd support site (the board one on cd is well out fo date now
and then manually check the ethernet make and model from manual for your board and download the latest driver from (intel?)

i have helped a few people with intel wifi cards on board this way

it could be as simple as a windows update has caused this issue/ conflict

Wow... Cannot believe I wrote all that and forgot the model. It is a x570 Phantom gaming 4s.

Yes, I believe you are right and I have a faulty NIC. I tried multiple driver installs both from Intel and ASRock. Same issue. Just will not see the onboard NIC.

It wasn't open box or used. Newly bought last June. The main reason I agree is that I followed the advice on another post and found that I couldn't even get a connection on the BIOS either.

Bought a PCIe NIC. That should definitely tell me if it is hardware or software. Will update after I install.
