Well, the CPU fan did not help, though the system again booted a single time after I had left it idle for the better part of 3 days.

Sure do wish this board would tell us what is going wrong rather than just the static output "System Initializing". The BMC is up and running and is not giving me any information as to the root cause of the system board not POSTing.

Ok so I have just seen this same kiss of death. The box has been doing duty as a Kubelet. I have 2 identical systems each with 10GbE as well as a pair of Samsung PM843T SSDs setup software Raid 1 in CentOS Linux. They run DRBD and GFS2 with Pacemaker and Corosync to provide shared storage to consume as PVCs and also to provide active/passive etcd failover for my Kubernetes 1.latest.xx home lab/services...

I was able to get it to boot one more time actually by pulling the system, opening it, and spraying it out with compressed air as well as reseating each of the DIMMs. It came about halfway up and then hung. Man there was a LOT of dust. I feel like the CPU fan (stock intel) was so dusty that its got a bearing out or something. It seems to stop too quickly after being spun. I've ordered a replacement and will see how it goes.

The BMC is also still responding.

Either way, this kinda bites because I didn't exactly need to upgrade but something tells me this board is not available anywhere?

Hi there,

I seem to have the same problem. Also a build that has been functioning quite well the last couple of years but I was dumb enough to poke around in the IPMI settings firmware update. (Cancelled it though) was left locked out in the IPMI settings.

Tried to clear bios CMOS (battery out) but no joy. Did see message that BMC was counting down but then it is stuck at system initializing.

Would love to hear if you were able to fix it.

I've been using this build for a couple of years now and for most part it's been working great, however now I can't seem to boot the system anymore. Friday night I realized that the box wasn't responding, the day after I fired up my IE10 VM to investigate the state of the box. IPMI was up and running, but when trying "Console Redirection" no image/video feed was shown.

Upon rebooting I was able to get into BIOS while hammering the DEL button and everything seemed fine. Trying to boot up my OS (FreeNAS) I had some issues as it seemed like the box kept dying during the OS boot. I figured that the USB with the OS on it was faulty so I switched it out, but it kept sporadically rebooting. At one point I was able to get the OS up and running, but it's only worked that one time out of perhaps 30 tries now.

I don't have a monitor with VGA making this hard to troubleshoot what's going on, but it seems the box is not POSTing at all anymore. Hammering DEL does nothing. Usually when I do that it beeps and lets me know I'm in BIOS settings, that doesn't happen anymore. Console Redirection gives me a blank screen.

I've tried removing all RAM and tried inserting them one by one in A1 slot, no dice. BMC led is blinking. I can access IPMI just fine. CPU fan spins up, drives spin up.

Eventlog in IPMI:

Specs:
E3C224D4I-14S (firmware: 0.18.00)
Intel Xeon E3-1241V3
4 x Kingston ValueRAM Server Premier 8GB 1600MHz DDR3L DIMM 240-pin

Any ideas what I can do now to try and find out what's wrong?
