Hello,
I got an issue with Z490 Extreme 4 motherboard. Motherboard does not recognize GPU on PCI-E 1 (x16) slot, but when I change GPU to slot PCI-E 3 (x4) card is working without any issues. I tried: 1. Reset CMOS 2. Change BIOS settings (default card from PCIE to Onboard, turn off computer, install PCIE card, turn on) 3. Removing M2 NVMe disc 4. Tried to change some other settings in BIOS, but nothing works. I checked it on Gigabyte Geforce 960 GTX and Gigabyte Geforce 2060 RTX. On both cards there is same issue. I know that there isn't much difference but still I would want to use x16 instead of x4. Specification: Z490 Extreme 4 Intel I7-10700K ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB SSD MODECOM Volcano 750W Gold Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) 3200MHz CL16 Vengeance (as default 2166MHz for now) |

I do not know how to edit post here so I am writing new.
in addition, it is not power supply issue. Fans are working both on x16 and x4 slots. |

Dear Larry154,
Thanks for posting. For this case, kindly check the CPU socket pins. If possible, try a dust blower to blow the PCIe slot. If the problem persists, kindly contact the distributor for further assistance. With thanks, ASRock TSD Edited by ASRock_TSD - 02 Feb 2021 at 12:20pm |

Hello,
Checked both processor and cleaned slot. Nothing is helping unfortunately. Maybe it is connected with M2 slot occupied? M2_2 is taken with NVMe disc. |

Resolved... I'm stupid. Two options:
1. PSU power cabel for CPU was not enough press in PSU (modular PSU) 2. GPU was not enough press down - When first time I put card into PCIE, there was "click" there, all looks like card is inside - and I was afraid to press more due to motherboard. I hold motherboard from behind, and press more (it did not looks like something happen, but maybe it was just few milimeters) |
