Hello friends.
I've had a sad problem with a C2750d4i motherboard which after a year and a half of perfect operation, has stopped working. I live in Cuba, and I was just starting out as a WISP. And my storage server had that board. I have made a tremendous investment in equipment and the project has come to a standstill. It is crucial for us to repair it. This board turns on for 3.5 seconds, and then turns off. Post screen does not appear. After it shuts down on its own, it doesn't respond to the power button. The RJ45 management interface works, but it doesn't give me any power-on option. I have read on some forums like TrueNAS that it is a BIOS watchdog issue, but they have not offered a viable solution. The few people who have been able to provide a solution have done so through the guarantee that AsRock has offered to its consumers. But I would like to know if there is a possibility that at the user level, this break or bug can be repaired. I have technical knowledge. I have an electronic equipment repair shop and will have a BIOS programmer in my possession soon. Please, help me to exploit all the possibilities to repair this plate, because in Cuba we do not have the possibility to use the guarantee offered by AsRock. Any kind of help or opinions will be very welcome. Thank you AsRock Team |

Have you tried clearing CMOS, disconnecting power and removing the battery?
If it is a watchdog issue then disconnecting it from power and fully clearing CMOS should clear it. Make sure you also disconnect any LAN cables etc that could be feeding power into the board. I would just disconnect everything from the board, pull the battery, clear CMOS and then leave it that way over night then reassemble and attempt to power on in the morning. |

Yes.
I have been reading a lot of old issues raised in this forum. Unfortunately, everything seems to be summed up as physical wear and tear on the avoton processor. Something like wear on the semiconductors that make up the CPU. It seems crazy to me. But many people with more experience in the subject come to that conclusion. Every time I lose hope in saving that board. I removed the CR2032 battery for a week, and it does not solve the problem. I am waiting for my BIOS programmer. I will try to flash the BIOS to the latest version. Currently has version 2.90 The BMC had version 00.27.00, but I managed to update it to version 00.30.00 via the web interface. Thank you very much for the reply. I hope to know if someone was able to solve the problem by themselves without having to go to the AsRock warranty. Thanks!!! |
