I was planning on purchasing a B550 Steel Legend and pair it with a Ryzen 5 5600x but have seen it requires BIOS version 1.20 for a 5000 series to be supported. I read that most people with issues received a board with BIOS versions 1.00 or 1.10. Has ASRock updated bios to at least 1.20 for motherboards sold through retailers? If so, is there anyway for me to verify BIOS versions without it being a used board?

My issue is I am building a new rig without having a secondary AM4 as my other PC is an i5. Also trying to figure out what will be the best way of dealing with the incompatibility if the b550 comes out of the box with an older BIOS version. If anybody has an tips or suggestions I would truly appreciate it.

a user on Reddit was able to boot on the 1.10 BIOS with their 5600x to update to latest BIOS.

You might be able to call whomever you are buying from and make sure your BIOS is 1.20 or later too

Thanks for the hope with the reddit user booting on 1.10 BIOS. I already tried asking Newegg if they would know the BIOS version and that was no luck and I doubt Amazon or the like would be any better unfortunately.
