Hello,

I have an X570 Phantom Gaming 4 motherboard and wish to add a M2 Google Coral accelerator which is Key E - see https://coral.ai/products/m2-accelerator-ae/

Slot M2_2 is keyed E on my MB but states for BT/WIFI module, do we know if it would also support this Coral device ?

Thanks!

This is for AI according to a Google search. I do no know what you think it does. The slot you want to install it to supports WIFI/BT. No the Card you wish to use will NOT work.

Yes, but at the end of a day the slot is a standard M.2 E - ie. 2 X PCIe x1 connections.

The Google AI is also M.2E and requires the 2 X PCIe x1 lanes.

Hence my query.

Although labelled as Wifi/BT I know other people have successfully installed non Wifi/BT cards in the same slot on other manufacturers MBs as its a PCIe standard as opposed to a Wifi/BT standard.

I agree with RLGL, that the device you want to use will not work properly. I suspect the motherboard is designed specifically expecting a Wi-Fi adapter in that slot.

You can always grab one and try it. I think the worst that will happen is the PC will not start. Or it may start and just not recognize device.

Alternatively, you can look for a PCIe card that has a socket E port and then place the module in that. You would likely get better success that way.
