Hello, followed all recommendation; Removed all the USB hub cables, video, keyboard, mouse, power cable, even SRAM 4GB module from socket and the mini-Sata 128MB flash drive, disconnected battery and moved BIOS clear jumper to pins 2-3 overnight.
Reconnected SRAM, Keyboard and power. Power up, clicking DEL on keyboard to bring BIOS setup to screen, still asking password. Several attempts never clear password settings. I am able to reflash BIOS just as a diagnostic, but I can not find the new flash BIOS code at ASRock website for this particular small machine. The paper label over the DIP8 BIOS chip shows "IMB-184 - PY/Q87 L1.25A" I tried HIREM two apps to kill cmos, one said to erase 256 bytes, another said killed was okay, but it still asking password for BIOS setup screens. This machine has Windows7 Pro installed, we need to clean up and install a clean Windows7/10, but can't get into BIOS to change boot sequence so we can boot from USB pendrive and install new windows into the 128GB flash Sata. Any help from ASRock will be very much welcome. Thanks. |

Yes, this is the motherboard
https://www.asrockind.com/overview.asp?Model=IMB-184 Left again overnight without battery and clear cmos jumper 2-3, after power on it still asking for password to enter BIOS setup. May be reflashing BIOS would solve it. Can't find BIOS bin file online. |

Just found the updated BIOS to download.
Download the windows executable installer to a second pen-drive, installed using the mini-windows from Hiren boot on a USB port. Once run the executable, it asked to reboot (reset), and immediately it started the new version of BIOS installation. It took from 2 to 3 minutes to complete. Reboot and voilá... BIOS setup available upon DEL key... no more password required. Here the BIOS files for download for the IMB-184 motherboard: https://www.asrockind.com/overview.asp?Model=IMB-184#BIOS |
