So I just upgraded my cpu form a ryzen 7 1700 to a 3700x, the 1700 never hit 70c so i'm not 100% sure if its a buggy bios or cpu, I updated to the latest bios I tried an older bios no difference I turned off the Over temp protection, once again no difference, the cpu on the other hand runs great when i manually set the voltages and speeds 4.2ghz across all cores at 1.2v,
My parts CPU:Ryzen 7 3700x Motherboard:Asrock x370 Professional Gaming PSU:Corsair RMx 650 GPU:GTX 1080 RAM:Corsair Vengeance pro 16gb I have a water cooler temps do not go above 70c unless I use prime 95 and torture test with small FFT's, Unless I set mobo settings to auto it'll reach 70c quicker and turn off. I tested this multiple times only @ 70c. PSU is working fine it powered my OC'ed 1700 which used more power. I tested this cpu on my friends motherboard and it worked perfectly it hit 77c on his and did not turn off and kept boosting and ran all benchmarks fine on his. I need help. Should I get a new mobo? or wait for an update from AMD is supposed to be releasing a new AGESA any advice will help. I do not think it PSU related since my Ryzen 7 1700 I had it at 4ghz with 1.425 Volts and actually even hit up to 100 Watts at times, the 3700x rarely goes past 70 watts and also less voltage. |

Didn't know how to edit, but I have been using the PC like this for a few days now, runs great while gaming it never gets over 56c while playing, but I don't want to have to worry if for some reason it hits 70c it'll turn off. I used Ryzen master, Core temp, HWMonitor AIDA64. all the sampe temps VRM temps are about 40 under load. all seems fine. it's just that it shuts down at 70c. I'm running latest bios and windows

I had a similar issue - Zen 2 setup was rebooting at high load. It got fixed when I raised DRAM voltage slightly, using the rest values from DRAM calculator. Out of the box XMP profile settings are not good.

Mine doesn't reboot though it justs shuts off, I'm pretty sure it's a bug. always at 70c for the cpu. I can run prime95 just fine for hours it never goes beyond 60c but there is things that can make it hot like prime95 small FFT's will push it beyond 60c making it shut down when it hits 70c.
