    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 at 7:05am
I have the z490 Taichi and notice in device manager the PCI data acquisition and signal processing controller, PCI Device and sm bus controller drive are missing and it won?t let me update or download them. Will this cause connection issues??

The drivers for this device are not installed (code 28)

There are no compatible drivers for this device

Any fix to get rid of this or don?t worry about it and just disable them?

Bios version 1.70

Dear KWEE,

Thank you for posting!

Regarding your question, kindly make sure to install the following drivers from the ASRock product site.

Intel Management Engine driver ver:14.0.33.1125v2_CONS_SW_DCH
https://download.asrock.com/Drivers/Intel/Others/ME(v14.0.33.1125v2_CONS_SW_DCH).zip

INF driver ver:10.1.18295.8201
https://download.asrock.com/Drivers/Intel/INF/INF(v10.1.18295.8201).zip

Once installed, please update the Win10 to the latest. The drivers will automatically be installed.

With thanks,

Thank you very much! Simple fix.

I had a question, what's the point of having these drivers installed? I didn't notice any issues having these not installed before.

Also what's the best BIO's version as of now? I updated mine to 1.70 right when I got the board since it was brand new when I received it. I tried a online method and it failed then just did FLASH Driver USB with the file on it and it worked perfect.

What's the best method for the future so I don't run into any issues? First time using Asrock so just wanna make sure I'm doing the BIO'S install correctly.

I've had 0 issues with this board and loving the performance.

Thanks for any help

Nick

Dear KWEE,

Thanks for the reply.

INF and ME are the two of the most important drivers for clean installed Win10.
Those drivers will make sure that the system is secured and each component of the motherboard are working.

Though, when the system has the internet, the drivers will be installed by the Win10 automatically. Manually installing the drivers is the quickest way to have all of the components have their own drivers installed.

The newest BIOS will not always be the best BIOS, it will depend on the system configuration that you are using. If you have encountered any issues, checking with technical support will be the best way to have the problem solved.

All that being said, it is best to keep the drivers and BIOS if the system is working properly.

With thanks,

Ok thanks

What's a safe method to roll back to the bios before 1.70? I have not noticed any real issues but would love to test the version I had before I updated too 1.70.

Also, if I roll back the bios will that reset everything inside the bio menu? Like Overclocks and fan curve changes?

Thanks
