Hello
I was wondering if anyone could help. I bought a B450M Pro4 second hand. I was told upon purchase that the boards bios has been updated so I built my new system with a Ryzen 5 5600. When booting the system it seems to be stuck in a loop, resetting after theory seconds. I do not get any signal to my monitor and cannot get into the BIOS. I have also tried removing ram to see if that fixed it. I am not getting any error sounds when booting. I suspect that the BIOS has not fact been updated to run 5000 series CPUs. and that is my issue. I do not however have access to an older CPU to update it. Is there another way to fix my issue? Thank you in advance for any help. |

Maybe you can borrow or buy an old/cheap CPU.
I had a 2600 and I was told by ASRock to update the BIOS right before putting in a 5600. They warn against updating the BIOS past a certain point with old CPUs. Unfortunately I don't have an easy fix suggestion. I'd ask ASRock if there is a way to update the BIOS without booting. I think MSI boards can. Try this: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwjo0Yz3xdD8AhWAk4kEHeWyCJ0QFnoECEEQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fforum.asrock.com%2Fforum_posts.asp%3FTID%3D5701%26OB%3DDESC&usg=AOvVaw0wou4uisYWcswGXh78u784 |

Thank you for your response. I believe I will need to buy another older CPU to update the bios but I will look into this first.
Thanks again |

See if AMD still offers "Short Term Processor Loan Boot Kit"
I'm so glad most (all?) AM5 boards have BIOS flashback (or whatever it's called) feature. |
