Does anybody know what motherboards support setting of ATA/HDD password?
It appears the Z170 Pro4S supports this if you do this in the BIOS: 1. Please reboot the system then press[Delete] to enter the BIOS setup. 2. In BIOS main screen, please press[Ctrl]+[Shift]+[F3]. 3. Afterward, press[F10] to save the setting and exit. 4. Reboot the system then enter the BIOS setup again, you can see the HDD security Configuration in Security tab. " Bit does this apply to all Asrock motherboards? The Z170 Pro4S is a bit overkill for my use, so I am considering the B150 Pro4/3.1. Eventually the Fatal1ty B150 Gaming K4.

Contact Asrock customer service, they can send you a special bios so that you have access to it within UEFI so you don't have to press any additional keys.

Nice! Seems like Asrock is the only of the major motherboard brands that support this on their consumer models.

The EXACT reason why I picked Asrock.
Since then I've been EXTREMELY happy with my X99M Extreme4 & their customer service! |
