I noticed the MOBO specs for memory9pasted below). What does (OC) mean next to 2400? Is there anything I need to do manually for my memory to work?

Thank you

memory support list NOTE: Note2: The O.C. mode is not guaranteed. It depends on whole system configuration and other parameters.

Supports DDR4 3000+(OC)*/2933(OC)/2800(OC)/2400(OC)/2133 non-ECC, un-buffered memory
- Supports non-ECC RDIMM (Registered DIMM)

As it implies. All mem clocks above 2133 are considered an OC due to the processors "official' specs and should not be taken as a given on any particular and differing system specs each User employs hardware/cooling wise.

Hope that answers your qauestion.

Hi!
I removed the old BIOS chip. Easily done with small fingers.
After installing the new chip, clear CMOS then restart and F2?
Just wanted to be sure before I begin.
Current config:

asrock x99m fatality killer
6800K

Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4 2400MHz CL14 Quad-Channel DIMMs - Black (CMK32GX4M4A2400C14)

EVGA GTX 1070 ACX 3.0 Black
Plextor M.2 M8Pe(G) with heat sink 512GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive
PX-512M8PeGN

Thank you!

however, i need to find memory. I checked on the Corsair site which lists all of its memory that is compatible with x99m killer here. to be safer i am looking at the 2133 or 2400  and 32 GB. however, even though they are listed compatible with COrsair, they do not show up onthe asrock x99m killer memory support list? is there any reason for this? which one do I choose?

Both are correct. ASRock makes a QVL at the beginning of production with what they have at hand at that time.

The mem manufacturers have more skin in the game and continually update their offerings and certifying their sticks/Kits on/against ALL manufacturers motherboards, to the mem manufacturers advantage.

The mem manufacturers QVL will always more current and they update it regularly when their new products come out.

No chance without BIOS chip or Haswell-E.
