Okay guys, so I am fairly new to building computers so I am stumped. I recently bought the z97 Anniversary edition motherboard with a i5-4690k processor and i previously had a ASrock Extreme3 and the AMD Phenom II Processor, both of which were 7 years old. Now I got the motherboard and processor installed into the computer and turned on but when it goes to start windows it will stop the screen will get a blue error for a fraction of a second and then shut off and restart the computer. From there it will restart the same process and stop in the same spot with occasionally telling me to repair my windows which does nothing. I tried to use the CD that came with the motherboard and that does not work, and also tried to use a old copy of windows on a USB drive that I had and it didn't respond to that either would do the same screen and start over. So in the end my question is has anyone had this problem or anyone have a solution for me because I just can't figure it out. I am willing to buy a brand new copy of windows but afraid it will just do the same thing and not work.

What am I doing wrong?! Haha

Thanks in advance.

If you moved the OS from an AMD System over to an Intel System, that's why.

The drive with the AMD drivers already installed, trying to load AMD drivers on your new Intel system. Which in turn means you have no Intel drivers for it to boot properly.

You can try an in-place Windows Repair. Best is to copy off the data you need and do a fresh install.
