Max Motherboard Temp Allowed

   I have a Fatal1ty Z370 Gaming-ITX/ac and my motherboard temp goes up to 52c under load.  Is this ok?  What motherboard temp is considered to be too high?

	For an ITX board, I would assume in a small case with limited airflow 52c under load is fine. It is well within safe tolerances and shouldn't be a concern. My max temp on a full sized ATX board in a large, well ventilated case is 40c under load, 12c higher in a much smaller form factor case with smaller heatsink/s (on the board components) sounds about right. My going philosophy is always improve cooling as far as you can within your noise/space requirements. If you can add another fan or 2 it will help drop temps across all your components and make things live a little longer, it will also help your CPU cooler out with lower ambient temps to work with. I tend to favor slightly higher intake vs exhaust (positive pressure) as it helps prevent dust settling inside the case. Enjoy your build

	OK, thanks for the response. Yeah, it's a small case (Cougar QBX, heavily modded) which started with 4 intake fans (2 bottom, 1 front, 1 AIO 120mm) and 2 exhaust fans (1 rear, 1 top). Recently I added a second exhaust fan on top. I was at 42c max mobo temp with that config. However, since my new gpu will be a 2.5 slot card I have to remove the 2 bottom fans. They're still in there because the new gpu hasn't arrived yet, but I disconnected them for testing and that's what caused the 10c bump in mobo temp. I'm still using my old gpu for all these tests, which is a Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming. It is at least a 150 watt gpu, probably a bit higher becuase it is overclocked. The new GPU will be 100 watts more (~270 watts). So, after disabling the 2 bottom fans I then added a 120mm intake on the side and that lowered the mobo by 5 degrees and incresed the gpu by 5 degrees! I think if 52c is acceptable for mobo I might not use the extra side fan. So I may sacrifice mobo temp to keep the gpu cool, but there is another possibility. Right now my AIO is in front of the mobo and the second side fan was added next to it (search Cougar QBX pics to visualize this). The warm air from AIO is blowing on the mobo, but if I switch positions of the AIO and the other fan, I will have cool air on the mobo and warm AIO air further away where at least one of the top fans will grab it and exhaust it out of the case. I'll let you know how it goes!

	Update: I moved the AIO and added the fan per above and the temps look great! While gaming the CPU is 50-60c (i7-8700K), GPU is 70-72c (2080 ti), and the mobo is 43-45c (Fatal1ty Z370 Gaming-ITX/ac). At idle, CPU is 32c, GPU is 49c (gpu fans stop when idle), and mobo is at 38c. Ambient temp was 24c. Next step is to optimize the fans under load to reduce the noise without bumping the temps up too much. The noise is not too bad, especially with head phones on, but I think it's worth experimenting. 	pff Taichis VRM's go up to 90 if you are using Liquid cooling^ no worries
