Yea, sorry there. Me bad. Don't know why I looked at the posted pic and that ASMedia/MS driver came starring right at me. Have you installed the required Intel INF "driver' from your motherboards download page? |

Since my computer was locking up randomly I decided to exchange the MB. So I got it in and swapped everything out. Brought it up and everything looked good. So I plugged in the front USB cable... still everything looked good. Before just plugging in the cable would give the fault in the first screen shot. So now I plugged in a USB drive. It acted like it was reading the drive then locked the whole system. After I rebooted I got the error listed in the following screen shot. Even with the cable unplugged I get this error. Before if I unplugged the cable the error went away. I also get random lock ups. So different symptoms but the same result.
http://i.imgsafe.org/18ab001.jpg Not sure where to go from here.... I saw the post about the driver... it is a 3.1 driver, would that have an affect on the 3.0 MB header. If I load it do I remove just the AS Media Controller or others too. |

That is a link on my personal Google Drive to the latest that I know of ASM1142 USB 3.1 controller Drivers. Read the below FIRST before proceeding. IMPORTANT : Uninstall the currently shown installed ASMedia/Microsoft drivers FIRST! I can not stress that enough. Uninstall, reboot, then install the driver I linked above. DO NOT perform an over the top driver install here. Post back your results |

Grrb a screenie of the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" expanded to show the devices listed under it please.
You can use Windows own Snipping Tool, Save it, then upload the pic to any of the free image hosting sites. Once on a Hoster, link the pic in a post here. Free Image Hosting that is super easy, super fast, and NO Registration req'd - http://imgsafe.org/ Edited by wardog - 01 Feb 2016 at 12:23am |

I have extreme7+ running windows 10. When I plug in the USB3.0 header for the front panel USB plugs... the MB boot sequence stops at X99 for thirty seconds then loads windows. Windows also shuts down the Generic Superspeed USB Hub device. I am using a Phantech case with front board that has (2) USB3.0, audio and reset. The front USB3.o port does not work, but the same device plugged into the rear connector works fine. I did not see any USB3.0 drivers for windows 10 for the MB. Am I missing a driver or is it something else.
