The file name of the Instant Flash file is strange, Z77EXT62.80E. Where did the E come from? The E should not be there.

Here http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z77%20Extreme6/index.ru.asp?cat=Beta its beta bios with supports NVMe Configuration.

Are you saying you then cannot get out of Instant Flash, by pressing the Esc key?

Yes, a BIOS freeze.
i tried the partition hdd fat32, but instant flash not see it, only usb flash.

I see now, you are right, a Beta UEFI/BIOS version will have extra characters in the file name.

Please use a USB flash drive, in a USB 2.0 port on the board's IO panel when using Instant Flash.

I'm fairly sure that every older ASRock board had an update to the Instant Flash module, but we cannot see what version that is for the Z77 Extreme6 board, or my Z77 Extreme4 board.

What UEFI/BIOS version do you have in your board now?

I was able to update my Z77 Extreme4 board to the P2.90M Beta version using Instant Flash on a USB flash drive. Why Instant Flash did not recognize that UEFI file, I don't know.

Did you try to use a USB flash drive to update to 2.80E?

I tried USB flash FAT, FAT 32 in a USB 2.0 and in a USB 3.0, board's IO panel and front case panel, even remove a discrete sound cardSmile

PS: I've attached external HDD drive to USB 2.0 at the back. Created a partition 200Mb, formatted it at FAT32, copied BIOS.
Turned off the pc, detached everything except keyboard and mentioned drive - voila, image found and successfully updated.
