Only unintentionally! Thanks for the info, though.

I was sleepy when writing my previous post. Editing it now would make it worse.

ya but that has nothing to do with motherboard...
400 chipset is basicaly same as 300, just it will get pcie 3.0 lanes
as it doesnt have any gpu, hdmi wont change
gpu and its supported resolution is inside CPU
and currently radeon r7 junk support high speed hdmi transfers. so no mobo change needed for hdmi 2.0 on upcomminng cpus
feel free to google "high speed hdmi cable" on google as mobo has pretty much integrated hdmi cable from cpu to hdmi port

Contacted asrock and they said that they currently only have one board that supports HDMI 2.0 but it is for intel. The Z370 Gaming ITX   He was not willing to tell me if any new boards would be released with HDMI 2.0 for the upcoming Raven Ridge processors.

Debunked! There is no HDMI 2.0 certification for the AM4 boards themselves, but HDMI 2.0 appears to work flawlessly for Raven Ridge APUs. Just like HDMI 1.4 cables will very often pass HDMI 2.0 signals without any issue whatsoever, the same appears to be the case here as well. The fact of the matter is ASRock does not want to formally test and pay for HDMI 2.0 certification on older, soon-to-be last generation products.

thanks for those links...
I'm thinking of buying a i3-8100 or 2200G.
If the 2200G offers native HDMI 2.. Intel can go to h... !
