This update likely had something to do with the security holes that were plastered all over the web lately. Intel pulled the first "fix" for stability issues. I am willing to bet they put little to no effort into the firmware updates for the cut down SoC based systems. 

That said, the testing was clearly not adequate and ASRock will doubtless be more thorough moving forward. I would imagine they trusted the update provided by intel rather than testing it as thoroughly as they should have. Intel are not usually know for releasing board bricking UEFI microcode. ASRock is a small manufacturer that does a hell of a lot with a relatively small staff and infrastructure, they make mistakes the same as every other manufacturer. The one thing I have always liked about ASRock however is how far they are willing to go to make things right for the end user. I recommend all of you effected by this issue contact ASRock and explain your situation, I am sure they will be more than happy to try and make things right for you.

Bios 1.5 deleted too...
My motherboard sended to Asrock, 2-3 week waiting now. Want see bios after.

Yes, ASRock do make mistakes like any other manufacturer but this particular mistake should never have occurred. Something as potentially damaging as a faulty BIOS update requires extensive testing and I don't believe ASRock have tested correctly - if at all! In my 30 years experience of using PCs and other devices that require firmware updates, this is the first time I have experienced damage to my equipment due to faulty firmware and I blame it on ASRock's negligence. Having fewer staff than other OEMs is no excuse - we are all aware of the potential issues caused by incorrect firmware and the staff are required to thoroughly test the firmware.

My initial reaction was to contact ASRock but somehow, my message was relayed to ASRock in UK, although I am based in Hong Kong. The reply I was given was that they would RMA the board but I was required to meet the costs for sending and receiving the board! For a company that damaged my board due to their ineptitude, I was even more angered at their response! I decided to take the board to an ASRock agent, Felton Distribution, in Hong Kong who offered to return it for repairs at no cost to me and also loaned me a J3455-ITX board in the meanwhile.

While I have no evidence of this, my own perception is of lazy ASRock staff who never even bothered to try the firmware, and for this reason, I have lost trust with ASRock - no matter how feature-rich their motherboards are. Gigabyte's imminent Gemini Lake boards look interesting and I would like to see others releasing such low-powered SoC systems as I don't want my choice to be restricted to ASRock only.

Good news, my motherboard bricked by bios 1.6 is exchange for new one.

Can know if last bios on Asrock is ok for update ?
Visibly 1.5 and 1.6 are deleted. Now I hesitate a little to update. The major problem is that the hdmi version must be done through this (as well as the support of the ram).

My bricked motherboard also got exchanged with a new one.
But i have the same problem as before. In Windows 10 and in BIOS my mouse is lagging. Switched the mouse but the result is the same. Does anybody else have the same problem?

My configuration is:
BIOS Version: 1.3
Memory: Corsair 8Gb, CMSO8GX3M1A1600C11
HDD: Kingston A400, 240GB, 2.5", SATA III,SATA
OS: Windows 10 64-bit

I have pair of J3455Bs  (one 1.30, other is 1.70) No  problems with mouse in win10. BIOS screen freezes sometimes for couple seconds.

Mouse freezing is fixed for my at bios 1.4 or 1.5 on my previous J4205-itx and in same time permise me to use normal ram frequency 1600 to 1800 if i remenber well.
