I have the boot drive and dvd connected to the first 2 sata ports and I've connected 2 drives to the other secondary sata ports.

The drive do not show up in the bios nor windows.

Dear Kmedia,

Thank you for choosing ASRock.

Regarding your case, please check the BIOS ASMedia SATA 3 Mode is at AHCI and check if the Storage Configuration has shown the device.
Also, have you update the BIOS to the latest version?

No, the bios does not see the drives. I already posted another question in regard to bios versions http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=10391&title=j3455itx-latest-bios

please advise.

Dear Kmedia,

Thank you for your reply.

We provide some suggestion to verify.
1.     Connect the boot drive and ODD to the ASMedia SATA 3 ports.
2.     Change another SATA cable.

Thank you!
Yours truly,
