Hi guys,
Long story short, I upgraded my PC and kept the old graphics card MSI 1070 Armor X, Samsung 850 Pro SSD, Seagate 3TB HDD. The new parts are ASRock Z390M ITX, 32GB RAM GSkill, Core i5 8500, NZXT H200. Everything went pretty smooth, PC started, ran some quick benchmarks and then updated the UEFI from 1.1 to 1.2 directly from Windows using the default settings. Rebooted, entered UEFI, tweaked some settings like boot order, and fan speeds, and hit save & exit. Then all I got was a blank screen but the system looked like it was posting. Sidenote: inside the UEFI the version was still 1.1 after updating. After some tryouts I realized the PC boots inside ubuntu on my HDD no matter what. If I remove the dedicated graphics card, then I can also see something on the screen. It won't boot from the SSD on Windows 10, no matter what. I tried flashing back UEFI 1.1, directly from the UEFI, but it doesn't work because it says I already have 1.1. Can somebody help with some hints on what can be wrong? I mean, it's a pretty basic job, new PC, install parts, done. It's not the first time I flash a new BIOS, nothing crashed, nothing failed. Thanks a bunch |
