Updating from default: 3.30 to 4.40 will not work, no matter how correctly I do this:
1. I have downloaded version 4.40 from the ASRock website here: https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/Fatal1ty%20X370%20Professional%20Gaming/index.asp#BIOS 2. Extracted the BIOS file to a USB with capacity 2gb which is Fat32 formatted. 3. I open the UEFI update program in the CMOS and it briefly shows the version of: 4.40 that is found on the USB and then says something about an update not being possible. Everything else is working good on this system. I wanted to add I have unplugged everything except the keyboard and mouse and the 2gb pendrive for USB devices. Running: 3 screens on SLI nVidia 960GTX 32GB DDR4 3900Mhz memory 3.3Ghz Ryzen 7 Evo 960 250GB C:\ sys drive External 10TB data drive unplugged. Any ideas? Thanks. |

Is 3.30 listed as bridge BIOS for your mobo? With older boards ppl need to update to a bridge and the go forth.
If 4.40 is a no-go, why don't you try with a lower verion first and the work your way up. Protip - with ASRock it's often better to try the beta BIOSes... IKR. |

Hi xhue,
Thanks for your reply. I did install the Bride-B updated before proceeding to 4.40. That installeed successfully with the Windows flash update service. A little bit strange that ASRock doesn't have the flash updates all for Win 7 / 10 GUI for their motherboards. Its very common these days. I will email ASRock support if I cannot find any further help here, but if you or others have advice, please share. |

I have just one more tip - avoid Win BIOS flashers at all cost. There are many who have suffered when using them. Plain old USB with the BIOS file on it works wonders and it's far less scary than most people think it is.

Thanks for the update on this thread.
Does anyone else have Fatalit1ty Professional Gaming X370 who would like to comment how they successfully updated their BIOS to ver 5.10 (latest as of Christmas 2018) which required: 4.40 first? |

SOLVED!
Begin by opening the URL: https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/Fatal1ty%20X370%20Professional%20Gaming/index.asp#BIOS Step 1: Download the ready to upgrade from factory installed BIOS: ver 3.30 dated: 2018/2/9 Instant Flash and copy it to your FAT32-formated USB drive. Updated it by pressing the F6 key in CMOS-flash screen ASRock logo screen. Step 2: Download the next update which requires 3.30 of version 4.40 dated: 2018/2/9 Instant Flash and copy it and repeat the instructions from step #1. Step 3: Now you can freely choose to update to 5.10 without problems! I recommend the Windows update through the APP Shop application from ASRock as it updates your BIOS to future versions most smoothly. Found here: http://www.asrock.com/feature/appshop/ |

A final note: If overclocked, always down-clock your CPU and RAM to the default speed before updating your BIOS. If you do not, you risk motherboard crash and may have to reset it using the reset button.
