Hey guys,

got a little problem here and was wondering if theres a "work-around".
Bought an i5-9600k an a B360 Pro4. As the Motherboard is compatible with 9th Gen Intel cpus.

Problem:
It´s not without the BIOS Update. Shame on me but even though i checked the reseller & asrock site, i didn´t notice that i need BIOS Ver. 3.10 for 9th gen to work.
As far as i can tell from the Motherboard right now, it has Ver. 1.30 on it according to the label.

PC won´t POST so i have no chance to enter der BIOS and boot the machine from USB for BIOS Update.

Any suggestions?

BR
Charly

It happens with both AMD and Intel product. Look at the QVL list and pick up the cheapest processor. Update the bios with it, then install the 9600k. Or borrow a processor, that will run on the board, from a friend.

Thanks for the reply and please excuse my late answer. Long story short:
Bought a new Mainboard and again trusted ASRock. This time a Z390 Pro4.
Built everything together... nothing.
As soon as i power up, there´s nothing. No POST, nothing.

The mainboard label states BIOS Version 1.30. Which is compatible, according to here:
https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z390%20Pro4/index.asp#Memory
with my i5-9600K.

I don´t get it...

Dear Charly,

Thank you for choosing ASRock.

The Z390 Pro4 supports i5-9600k since BIOS P1.30.
Regarding your case, we provide some suggestion for you to try.
1.     Clear CMOS to load BIOS default.
Please remove the power cord, and follow the user manual p19 to clear CMOS.
http://asrock.pc.cdn.bitgravity.com/Manual/Z390%20Pro4.pdf
2.     Only install CPU and one stick memory to check if the system can boot into BIOS properly.
3.     Please try to install one stick memory at A1, B1, A2 and B2 slot to check if the system can boot into BIOS properly.
4.     Reinstall CPU and check if CPU socket pin is fine.
5.     If it is possible, please change another CPU or DRAM to check if the system can boot into BIOS properly.

Thank you!
Yours truly,
ASRock TSD
