Hi,
I am trying to make work the addressable RGB led port on the B450m PRO4 motherboard. I plug the Cougar RGB led strip (2 strips of 15 leds) and installed the Polychrome RGB software version 1.0.27. On first startup, the program updated the firmware of a chip (A Nuvoton microcontroller I think) and then I was able to change the effects of the led. All was working. But, after a while, the last leds of the strip blink briefly and just freeze on a color. The other leds continue to work normally. When those leds freeze, the only way to unfreeze them is to turn off the power supply, because even if I shutdown the computer, those frozen leds stay light. I tried to use the wICPFLASH.exe utility to rewrite the firmware version 2.07 (the file nu51_2.07), but the leds still freeze after a while. I even try to set it from the bios, but the same problem occurs. Sometimes it takes a few hours, sometimes it is after a few minutes. Does anyone else have the same problem and found a solution? Thanks |

I finally found it was my led strips that were faulty. I exchanged them from where I bought them and I got no problems so far. Perhaps there was just one faulty led that cause the rest of the strip to freeze.
