I recently flashed my AB350 Gaming-ITX/ac board to BIOS version 5.30. Beforehand I update AMD's Adrenalin drivers to the latest version, 19.1.1. Everything went smoothly, and my system is running stably.
This got me thinking, however, about installing future Adrenalin updates. AMD's instructions for installing new updated drivers states: "Ensure that any existing AMD graphics driver on the system is removed before installing a new driver package. Performing a complete uninstall ensures a clean system and can help reduce issues or conflicts that may occur on new installations." Uninstalling existing drivers requires a system restart, which would seem to conflict with 5.30 BIOS's requirement to have "AMD all in 1 with VGA driver ver:18.10.20_NHDA" or later installed. If I restart the system after uninstalling the Adrenalin drivers, will I have to follow the display recovery SOP to get the system working properly again? |

That's some Inception/Shutter Island-level mindf*ck!
![]() Jokes aside, it looks like a really relevant question. I too would like to know the answer of it. |

Sorry for the bump, but still hoping for some insight into this issue.

I think ASRock instructions are for cases where one already has Windows deployed, plus some old AMD drivers. In this case, updating BIOS to 5.30 would break the existing system.
If you already have 5.30, you should worry not. Your system should survive restarts between new Radeon driver installs. In either case, backup and cross fingers! |

That makes sense, and I believe you are probably correct. I was reading too much into the instructions. ![]() Thank you! |
