Hi all,

I'm putting together a build with the Mobo listed in the title and trying to install Windows on and boot from a Crucial MX500 500GB 3D NAND SATA M.2 Type 2280SS. However the drive will not show up in BIOS nor in Windows installation as a drive to install the OS on. The activity light for the drive is on, but I can't seem to get it to show up despite trying some BIOS tweaks recommended in other posts.

I'm a noob when it comes to M.2 drives, so I apologise if I have missed something obvious, but would love to get this resolved and have the machine up and running. Any help is very appreciated!

That is strange.

Here is what I recommend. Update BIOS to 2.00 and clear CMOS afterwards.

If this doesn't help, do a complete rebuild of your system from scratch. Clear CMOS once again and see what happens.

Should have cleared this but my SSD was a SATA and I had it in the PCIE M.2 slot. Thanks for the reply!

If your mobo manual is to believed, the SSD should go in M.2_2, as this M.2 slot is for SATA devices. The first one is for NVMe.
