Ok to answer all questions.   This is NOT a Ryzen build. the bios is in full uefi mode on all settings. Including Launch Storage OpROM Policy is set to uefi only. That being said, all my installs of windows 7 sees the nvme and installs to it without issue. but when it goes to restart after its copied the windows files is where it hangs up. I did try the install to a sata SSD, and install nvme drivers and then clone to the then functioning nvme device. I get the same hang when you go to boot from that nvme drive.   In the post wardog provides there is someone that states using the MSI tool fixed it for him. I will try that just to make sure its not the same. But the big thing is windows 7 installation from USB does perfectly see the nvme device.

The 970A-G/3.1 system board is not a Ryzen system board; it has an AM3+ socket. Windows 10 Setup has a built-in NVME driver but Windows 7 does not. Does Crucial have a driver for this? I recommend you contact them and find out. Also, does your Windows 7 install media have Service Pack 1 incorporated?

Ryzen CPUs do NOT support Windows 7 so this will never work. Ryzen only officially supports Windows 10. I have a dual boot system (from before I upgraded to Ryzen) with Windows 10 and Windows 7. When I boot to Windows 7 I get a blue screen of death. If I boot into Windows 10 - no issues. Either stick to Windows 10 or change your motherboard/CPU if you really need Windows 7.

I have a crucial CT500P1SSD8 installed on a 970A-G/3.1 motherboard. It installs windows 10 to the nvme fine. works well.   When i try to install windows 7 x64, it sees the drive and installs to it but during first boot after the "adjusting registry settings" it goes to the win7 logo and just hangs. Hangs during safe mode boot too. Anyone have any suggestions. I have tried CSM on and off with no luck. Seems to be specific to windows 7 but without a error I'm stuck
