My one year old build consisting of a B650E steel legend Ryzen 7 7700x, ASUS ASUS 4070 super, and g.skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB 64go (32x2) 6000 C30 ram is giving me problems posting. In the year since I?™ve built the machine it?™s always been finicky to start but once running I?™ve not experienced any issues. I just upgraded the bios to 3.5 and during the upgrade I noticed the default ram mts was 4800 and not 6000, I changed it to 6000 and switched to expo and the problem has become much worse, the computer is almost unusable. When booting, Sometimes ill get a steady cpu light and flashing dram light sometimes no lights and sometimes just the CPU led is lit. When it doesn?™t post which is almost every time now, I unplug the psu and press the cmos clear button for 30 seconds. the clear cmos doesn?™t seem to help unless I let the computer sit for 30 min or more. My last attempt took 2 hours 2 reboot. I?™ve read of several issues with g.skill ddr5and asrock boards. Is there any fix or recommended settings I can enable to make this thing work? On the old bios I never tinkered with the bios ram settings and they were likely at the default of 4800 and that kept the build somewhat stable, but I?™d like to get the full capacity of the components I purchased. I?™m an occasional mild gamer, the bulk of what I use the computer for is photo editing using Photoshop, Lightroom, and a little video editing using Davinci. Im hoping I don?™t have to change out a 700.00 set of ram. Would I be better off writing off the mother board and getting something or am I missing something in the bios that will let me run everything at or close to its capacity? if a new MB is the best route what would you recommend?
