Hello,
MOBO: ASRock Fatal1ty B450 Gaming-ITX/ac CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 GPU: XFX Quicksilver Magnetic Air Radeon RX 9070 XT 16 GB Video Card RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory PSU: Corsair RM1000X 1000W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply OS: Windows 11 64-bit My system was on BIOS P5.20 for awhile and had no issues. Recently I updated the BIOS to P10.50. After the update, the system wouldn't POST or boot to BIOS anymore. Upon power on, the fans spin, then turns off. The system then reboots and the cycle repeats. Additional Details: - Yes I've tried shorting the CMOS jumper and disconnecting the CMOS battery. This did not resolve the issue. - I installed a AMD Ryzen 5 5500 and was able to POST/boot to BIOS. I see BIOS version P10.50 in the UEFI so BIOS update was successful. - I installed a AMD Ryzen 5 5600 but was not able to POST/boot to BIOS. I thought this was odd (maybe I had a bad CPU?). Questions: 1. Has anyone ran into this issue before? Anyone with Fatal1ty B450 Gaming-ITX/ac and AMD Ryzen 5 3600 have success with the latest BIOS P10.50? 2. The CPU is AMD Ryzen 5 3600 which is Matisse. ASROCK doesn't warn against this for BIOS P10.50 - but is BIOS P10.50 compatible with the AMD Ryzen 5 3600? If it is compatible, any suggestions on what else could be the problem? 3. On this motherboard, is it possible to downgrade the BIOS to support the AMD Ryzen 5 3600? What BIOS version do you recommend? Thank you, Darren |

I had no issues with any of my AM4 boards and 10.50 (or latest update with
security keys) with my 3600. I used the same CPU to update: X370 Taichi X370 Gaming K4 X570 Taichi X570 Pro 4 Given the update will contain the same AGESA across all AM4 boards I doubt it will be different from one model to the next. Support for the 3600 was not dropped. Based on what you describe, it seems like the system was struggling with RAM training after the update. I would try just giving it a bit more time. Power on with the 3600 and leave it on for 10 - 15 mins and see if it POSTs. If not, try using just one stick of RAM in slot A2 and clear CMOS before powering on. Sometimes after a BIOS update the first POST can take longer on some CPUs. I suspect the same issue for both the 3600 and the 5600. I am almost certain both would eventually POST. Let me know how it goes ![]() Edited by Xaltar - 1 hour 41 minutes ago at 3:18am |
