I have had b360m pro4 for almost nine months (ish). I have dual boot (ubuntu and win10), no problem at all. After a recent win10 update, neither my ubuntu nor my win10 will boot. No error message whatsoever, it hang at a black screen/purple screen. The window update might have rewritten my partition table, although my grub still shows okay so I don't know the exact reason for that. I tried to boot from a ubuntu live usb, but it doesn't allow me to. Nevertheless, I decided to update my bios to see if that would help (I don't know what i was thinking, but i did it). But then the situation got worse.
tdlr; I updated my bios with usb instant flash, everything went smoothly, the progress bar got to 100% and the system restarted itself, but then all of a sudden, it showed a black screen. Nothing agrees to show up. I tried 1) clear cmos for 12 hour 2) remove bios battery for 12 hour 3) reassemble the all system 4) using onboard graphic (hdmi or vga) My system have i5 8400 cpu, gkill 16gb ram ddr 4 2400, gpu gtx 1060ti 6gb, cx 550m psu, and a ssd samsung evo 500gb. However, after all the steps, it still shows a black screen. Neither my keyboard and mouse lights up. The cpu fan, case fans are running, gpu fan will start at first then stop. The power led lights up indicating there is some power going into the board. It is a pretty a reliable PSU and CPU. I doubt anything is wrong with those, and before that everything ran fine. It is only after the bios update, nothing shows up, not even BIOS menu or GRUB. |
