Firstly sorry for my bad English, I speak badly this language
I mounted my new server for the house with these components: - ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate - AMD Ryzen 5 2600 - Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus M.2 PCIe NVMe - G.Skill Fortis Series 32 Go (4x 8 Go) DDR4 2400 MHz CL15 - Controller card PCI-E 1 port RS-232 (DB-9) - x8 Seagate barracuda 2TB I use a graphics card the time of installation, everything works perfectly. but when I remove the card (because on this server I do not want it for electrical consumption and I'm using ssh for this server) the server does not start. I feel like it's stuck on the BIOS selection screen. Is there an option in the bios to allow me to boot without a graphics card? thank you in advance |

The Ryzen 2600 has no integrated graphics, so you have to have a graphics card of some kind for it to run. I don't know of any option to allow boot with no graphics at all.

It is an ASRock thing. Ryzens and TRs can run headless servers without any issue.
It's the mobo that actually checks for a GPU during POST and refuses to boot without one. |

There is no solution? No adjustment possible in the bios?

There might be one. I am just not aware of it.
You can also try emailing tech support for more info. Or you could get a $100 server/VM AMD GPU. |

I have gpu, that's not the problem. Only for power consumption I do not want a gpu. ASRock allows it with Intel and not with AMD? weird

Most discrete GPU have a really low power draw in idle, while not feeding a monitor, e.g. 12-25W. Some have even lower power sip.
For 24/7 usage it really adds up, but what are your other options? |

I had to reboot just now so wandered through the BIOS, didn't see anything that sounded like allow headless boot except possibly for the boot splash screen option under Boot - I didn't experiment but you could try it.
I found a reddit posting where someone claimed to be able to boot headless with one of the Gigabyte B450 boards. The interesting bit is that Gigabyte told him no, that doesn't work, you have to have a GPU! |
