I would not recommend an A320 board for anything more powerful than a Ryzen 3. These boards are designed for budget builds with weaker CPUs. Don't be lured into buying a cheap board to save money, you will regret it in the long run. I would suggest you look at some of the cheaper B350/B450 boards at the very least. Ideally you want a board that will allow you to upgrade to an 8 core CPU down the line and even handle a little overclocking.

From ASRock's lineup I would recommend:

1. B450 Pro4 or if you like RGB and some case bling the B450 Steel Legend
2. B350 Pro4 or B350 Gaming K4
3. B450M/B350M - HDV

In that order, prices descending. If you can find a good deal on an X370 board that would be even better. Something like an X370 Pro4 or X370 Gaming K4 (or X) would be ideal for a 1600x and allow some overclocking and be ready for current and upcoming R7 CPUs. Boards like these are often on promotion on various hardware outlets because they are older. You are clearly on a budget if you are looking at an A320 however so the B450/B350 boards I listed are likely closer to the money you want to spend.

If you didn't already own an R5 1600x I would suggest you pair something like an R3 2200g with an A320 board for a really decent budget build but as soon as you go past say an R5 2400g you begin to put strain on the budget A320 board and run into thermal throttling and other heat issues.

Let us know what you decide to go with and good luck with the build
