To expand on this, what are safe voltages for DDR4 (taken from overclock.net)
VCCIO: 1.2v System Agent (VCSSA): 1.25v Vdimm: 1.35-1.4v Also, it is recommended to set the voltages in UEFI but leave the RAM at 2133, save and exit. Then re-enter UEFI and set the desired memory speed. My cheap Corsair 3000Mhz C15 runs beautifully at 3300MHz C14 using the knowledge above.

I have enough experience with this board to say that the fix is to set vccio and vcssa voltages manually to a value higher than what the BIOS sets in auto mode.

Did you ever find a solution for this? I had the exact same problem and at first I thought I bricked my board, however luckily I saw your post and tried removing my ram (same as yours) and bingo..that worked. However like you I'm stuck at 2133.

New update. I got the board to recognize all 4 slots now by setting the memory speed to 2133 manually. The memory I have (Crucial Ballistix Sport) runs at 2400mhz and 1.2v and according to Asrock's website it supports all 4 slots in dual channel. I tried raising the DRAM voltage to 1.25, and 1.3 but no luck with 2400. The builtin XMP profile does not work... I made some progress, but still, I'd like to run the ram at its stock speed. What else should I look into to get it working? Any other values I should try tweaking?

So I got it to boot by removing everything, and clearing CMOS, then putting everything back in with up to 3 memory sticks, but when I fill all the slots it doesn't want to boot, just a black screen. I tried each memory in the first slot, and they work, so somethign seems like it went wrong with the mobo. This update apparently addresses some memory compat issues, but it seems it screwed up omething related to the memory because all slots were working before the update. I did the update to see if it would fix the problems with Securom games and the skylake, but seems like I screwed up... Any ideas?

Maybe Your USB drive has some bad blocks, and it can screw-up the EEPROM.
Contact ASRock TSD, they will send You a new BIOS chip. |

I downloaded the latest 2.50 bios for the z170 pro4, put it in a USB fat32, went to the bios update, and it all went fine, at then it said "successful, reboot press enter", and I did, then I got a black screen. I have tried clearing CMOS with the jumper, and by taking the battery out, I took the nVidia card out, and used the builtin DVI output, and nothing, black screen still. Any ideas? I am thinking on getting a new bios chip from eBay, but is there anything else I can try doing? This seems very weird... why did it say it was successful and then black screen?
Thanks.
