Hi, i own an Asrock AB350-HDV with a ryzen 5 2400g.
I wanted to lower down the voltage on the CPU for power consumption reasons. In the BIOS i can adjust the Voltage Core (VID) and frequency. However, whatever voltage i set, be it 1.35 or 0.95 volts, it will not apply. The voltage will remain ~1.25v. Measured in HWmonitor from BIOS, Cpu-z, Hwmonitor software, Ryzen master. Nowehere am i able to drop that voltage. I run the 2400g with XMP profile 2933 and Turbo Disabled. Works like a charm. But i don't want to run at 1.25v for no reason. I'm certain that can run much lower. Only when i drop frequency will it drop voltage. They seem to be linked with no way to adjust voltage independently. What gives? ![]() |

This is definitely the last time i'm getting an Asrock product. |

I have same issue although I don't remember it doing this with 5.80 bios.
HWiNFO64 and Ryzen Master both report 1.55v during cpuz stress test after a few seconds. I have to manually stop it at 90C after about ten seconds. HWinfo64 reports 125W cpu draw during stress... This happens with manually setting VCORE (on mine anyway...even at 1.2v), even using RyzenMaster. HOWEVER, if I use UEFI defaults (and set RAM XMP), vcore doesn't go over 1.337, and clocks at 3.7 to 3.9 @74C. STRANGE... ![]() |
