Hi all!
I want to upgrade from a Ryzen 1600 to a Ryzen 3600 and I need to update my BIOS. I have an AsRock AB350 Pro4 and my BIOS version is the 3.30 I've heard some people having problems updating the BIOS of this motherboard so I'm here to ask you.. How to update it? I mean, I should update first to 3.40, then 5.40, then 5.80? Thanks! |

You arr on the right path. As described here -> https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/AB350%20Pro4/#BIOS you will need to first update to 3.40, then to 5.40 and then to 5.80.
It is also important to NOT flash the next version immediately after the previous one. Reboot, clear CMOS and then proceed with the next BIOS version. |

Have you used the 3600 in this MoBo? I am looking to upgrade the same but want to wait a bit for it to get updates and such.

Don't do it mate, BIOS is in an immature state. Trust me. Wait until AGESA 1.0.0.2 as bare minimum.

As JBG84 says, Definitely wait until ASRock puts up a new BIOS. 5.80 on the B350 PRO4 is broken (as is 5.70 on the B350 gaming-itx/ac). My B350 gaming-itx/ac takes 15 tries before it will POST with my 3600X. Once it does, everything is fine, but it looks like numerous people can't get their B350 systems to POST at all across several mobo vendors.
Hopefully ASRock will resolve this soon. In the mean time, anyone who has already updated and is having POST problems... it is probably not your CPU. See if you can get it to post and note that if the power button stops working you may have to cycle the PSU power switch (off, wait 10 seconds, on). If you have already updated to a dud BIOS, but you are able to eventually get it to POST, that means you will be able to update to a new BIOS when it comes out without having to put your old CPU back into the mobo. -Matt |

Same problem with AB350 pro4. BIOS version 5.50
Ryzen 5 3600x don't work correctly. I can start Win10 only one time. After reboot system don't start. System halt before recovery menu, so i can't see problem anyway. After change CPU to old Ryzen 1700, everything work ok. |
