Windows 10 wants to update, but is telling me that my Intel RST is out of date. I've tried installing the latest version from Intel but I still get the error.

MS says "Versions 15.5.2.1054 or later are compatible, and a device that has these drivers installed can install the Windows 10 May 2019 Update. For affected devices, the recommended version is 15.9.6.1044." The latest version on the ASRock downloads page for my MB is 15.5.0.1051.

Is there a solution to this issue? Thanks.

Uninstall the Intel Rapid Storage and try this:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28656/
That is version 15.9.6.1044 per the "the recommended version is 15.9.6.1044."

This seems to be a common issue a lot of folks are having. I have seen several posts about it.
It seems when the Intel RST driver is updated that the old version is not properly removed.
When you try and and update windows is still seeing that older version of the driver.

If you are comfortable with it you can download DriverStore Explorer from this link https://github.com/lostindark/DriverStoreExplorer/releases/tag/v0.10.51.

This program will allow you to inspect all the drivers in your driver store folder, and remove the one that aren't needed.

It will not let you remove any drivers that Windows is actually using unless you force it to.

If you are not comfortable with this type of stuff, best to just wait for MS to fix it.

And It's always a good plan to do proper backup images with a something Like Macrium Reflect free before making any major Changes to Windows.

peace

I screwed up the address by putting a period on the end.
