Trying to install an 'Intel SSD 660p M.2 PCIe 3.0 x 4' onto the M2_2 slot on my ASRock Steel Legend b450m board but I'm really not having any luck! It's not showing up in the bios or disk manager! I'm not sure what to do. Can anyone offer advice on this? Please bare in mind that I'm not particularly computer savvy so might need fairly simple instructions.

Cheers

don't know if it works or not as i think i found out why my samsung 970 evo plus doesn't show up in my bios, and now i can't get to my bios page.. but.. try going into bios, then advanced, then onboard devices configuration, look for pci e x4-3 bandwidth, and select the m.2 option.. (and pcie5 and m2. 2 can't be used at the same time; just in case)... hope it helps!

Are you sure about that?

I'm pretty sure the manual for the board said that M.2 can be used on the M2_2 slot.

Unfortunately this doesn't work for me because it's not showing up anywhere in bios. Not even in the Advanced section.

It goes in the top slot. The bottom slot is for SATA SSD's only. But my NVME drive still doesn't work.

The board accepts NVME drives. I found this online:

"2x Ultra M.2 Socket (M2_1), supports M Key type 2230/2242/2260/2280 M.2 PCI Express module up to Gen3 x4 (32 Gb/s)"

Come on, believe therzone123 and read the spec of the B450M Steel Legend:

- 1 x Ultra M.2 Socket (M2_1), supports M Key type 2242/2260/2280 M.2 PCI Express module up to Gen3 x4 (32 Gb/s) (with Summit Ridge, Raven Ridge and Pinnacle Ridge) or Gen3 x2 (16 Gb/s) (with Athlon 2xxGE series APU and Raven Ridge 2)**

- 1 x M.2 Socket (M2_2), supports M Key type 2230/2242/2260/2280 M.2 SATA3 6.0 Gb/s module

https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B450M%20Steel%20Legend/index.asp#Specification

Just the B450 (without M) Steel Legend has Gen3 x2 on M2_2.
