I have an X570M Pro motherboard with an Asrock Thunderbolt 3 AIC installed in PCIe3 slot with the Thunderbolt connector installed between the AIC and motherboard Thunderbolt connector port per the motherboard's manual.

With Thunderbolt disabled I am able to boot normally into Windows 10 with no issues. As soon as I enable Thunderbolt in the bios, my M.2 drive no longer shows up in the boot menu of the bios and I am unable to boot into Windows.

The motherboard BIOS has been updated to the latest version 1.50. The only BIOS settings change that has been made is to enable Thunderbolt 3:

Advanced -> AMD PBS -> Thunderbolt Support - Enable

Hardware:
Ryzen 3800X
X570M Pro4 Motherboard
Asrock Thunderbolt 3 AIC
Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 2 x 8GB DDR4 3200Mhz
Samsung 970 Evo M.2-2280
Intel Wireless AC-9260
Gigabyte RTX 2080 Ti Gaming OC
Seasonic Focus SGX 650W SFX PSU

I'm experiencing the same issue with my X570M Pro4 with bios v1.90.

If I enable Thunderbolt support within the bios, on the next boot, my M.2 NVME drive (Aourus 1TB PCIe Gen4) disappears and windows can't boot.

We need an answer ASRock!

My specs:
CPU:               Ryzen 5 3600
Motherboard: X570 Phantom Gaming 4 (Firmware p1.30)
Card:              Asrock Thunderbolt 3 AIC R2.0
Memory:        Corsair Vengeance LPX 2 x 16GB DDR4 3200Mhz
Storage:        Samsung 970 Evo M.2
Graphics:       Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super Gaming OC
PSU:               Seasonic Focus Plus 550 Gold

The Apple Thunderbolt Display I hooked up to the thunderbolt card does work to some extend (only image and sound) but not the USB-Ports, webcam etc.

When I boot from an Ubuntu-Boot-Stick I can see my partitions no problem, but I can't boot to them..

I tried it with Bios(MBR) and UEFI(GPT) Windows.

Any help?

Curiously, I reverted back to v1.80 of the BIOS and it all works once again... My Aorus 1TB Gen4 SSD is detected, as is my Thunderbolt 3 AIC and I can boot into Windows fine.

On version 1.90, something changes in term of the chipset and PCIe x16 buses and I think that they conflict with each other.

Do dive into this ASRock and check what has happened, listen to your customers, we're the ones paying for your products and keeping the company alive.

You were the only board maker to launch a Micro-ATX X570 based board and I commend you on that, but do support us equally.

Experiencing the same issue using 1.90 bios, i will try out the solution using 1.80.

M2 is neither detected on 1.90 nor 1.80

Did you do anything else? I tried all available ROM Versions, but no luck... The M2 won't get detected as long thunderbolt support is enabled

I didn't have to do anything, once I reverted back to v1.80 and enabled Thunderbolt support, both M.2 SSDs where detected (they're both PCIe SSDs, not SATA, in my case).

In v1.80, temps and voltages are higher than in v1.90

Contact ASRock support and submit a ticket. They might be able to help and we keep pressure on them.

How did you manage to put two M.2 SSDs in there.... The x570m only has one slot?!
