Hello forum!
Given two DeskMini 110. One is about 2y old, one is rather new. When I plug-in the power supply of the new one, for maybe 3 seconds the blue power light goes on, CPU fan starts spinning and disk light makes a blip like disk is accessed and.... everything stops. I have to press the power button and it boots up, as expected. The "Unsafe Shutdowns" counter of the NVME SSD increases by one, so I really think it tries to start to boot but actually does not. I checked the UEFI setting "boot after power loss" and it is disabled. With the old DeskMini I don't have and never had this problem. So something must have changed? A newer board revision? Newer UEFI revision? Different UEFI default settings and I just have to fix one? Note that I tried swapping the SSD, it doesn't change, so I don't think it's a software problem of properly shutting down. Anyone seen this before? Any suggestions what to try? - My only idea is to flash UEFI to newest version on the weekend when its not in use and hope for the best.... |

Dear Aforumuser,
Thank you for posting your query to ASRock forum. We have checked, however, we are not able to see the same symptom on our side. Please try with suggestions below: 1. Please update the BIOS to newest version P8.10. 2. Please try installing only one RAM on the system. 3. Please try changing the RAM. 4. Please try to change the power adapter. 5. Please leave the minimum bootable hardware on the system. (Only leave the CPU, CPU fan and one RAM) If above mentioned did not work, kindly contact your motherboard distributor for further assistance. With thanks, ASRock TSD |

As a followup for the archives:
Old Deskmini 110 has UEFI v7.00 and never had any problem. The new DeskMini 110 was shipped with UEFI v7.70 and has the above described problem. After upgrading to newest UEFI v8.10 I can report it no longer shows the problem. |
