Problem:
No Monitor Signal when Using XFX Radeon RX 570 RS XXX Edition video card. System Info: ASRock X570 Pro4 Ryzen 5 3400G - Radeon RX Vega 11 Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB | 16 GB 3200 MHz XFX Radeon RX 570 RS XXX Edition 1286MHz, 8gb GDDR5 UEFI BIOS Version 1.70 I've had troubles getting the Onboard Graphics Card to work. My old NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 TI works just fine with it. I am connecting it to my monitor with an HDMI cable. So I purchased a new video card (XFX Radeon RX 570 RS XXX Edition 1286MHz, 8gb GDDR5) for use with it. I purchased a new video card to use, since I want to keep my GeForce card with my old computer. I've put the new video card in the system and the monitor gets no signal. I've verified it is seated correctly. I've got the 8 pin power connect attached to the video card. The blue light on the video card goes on. The fans spin for a second and then turn off (apparently they only go on if it is hot). One of the pages suggested using the other PCIE slot on my motherboard. I tried that and it has the same affect. Some research suggested disabling the Integrated Graphics Card. But I can't find that in the BIOS. I found some videos that suggested going into Advanced > AMD CBS > NBIO Common Options and disabling it there. However, the GFX option isn't in this version of the BIOS. I've read the manual a few times and I can't find anything about this problem. I read the FAQ and it had a few suggestions for the issue, but none of them helped. I'm not sure what else to try. Any suggestions? |

Update:
I took the computer into my office this morning. I tested the same system with a different monitor and different hdmi cord in the office and it worked here. So I'm not sure if its the monitor or the hdmi cable, or possibly both. I'm starting to wonder if maybe the cord or monitor don't support a particular HDMI protocol at home. I plan to do some more testing at home tonight and I'll keep you updated. |

I got home and tested the HDMI cable that worked at work. It did not work with my Acer monitor.
I actually have two of the exact same monitor. They both work with my old video card in the same machine. Which makes me believe that the new video card is sending a HDMI signal over a new protocol that my old monitor isn't supporting. acer LCD Monitor Model No. S231HL Version S231HL bid Part Number: ET.VS1HP.001 October 2011 I bought a new monitor and it is working just fine. So I will keep the Acer monitors for my old computer and not try to use them with a new computer any more. I hope this helps anyone else having issues with no signal or a black screen when setting up a new computer. |
