I have the same problem as this guy: http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=11614&title=help-with-disabling-smt
In an effort to raise efficiency (only non-AAA gaming use) I wanted to disable SMT. It doesn't work. Prime95 keeps seeing 16 threads. Power cycle didn't help and disabling suspend to RAM didn't work either. I'm on BIOS 3.31 and it explicitly states in the notes that disabling SMT is supposed to work. Also setting cTDP as seen here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/9mxs88/ryzen_7_2700x_ctdp_test_15w_vs_35w_vs_65w_vs_auto/ is not working either. The option doesn't exist. The only thing I can do is set downcore to 4+0 in order to get 4c/8t which acutally works. I'd much rather disable SMT or set cTDP to 65W tho. |
